3D Printing

For this project, we could create any object that would be 3D printed. I decided to create a key chain with my name on it because it is very hard to find a key chain with my name on it. Also, on the bottom of the key chain it says class of 2016 because I wanted to make my key chain somewhat memorable. I still need to paint my key chain to make the letters come out more.

Mr. Mandel

For this project, I morphed Howie Mandel from America's Got Talent with Mr. Clean. I just chose those two because I wanted to do Mr. Clean because I thought he would be easy to work with and I also did Howie Mandel because he kind of reminds me of Mr. Clean. I honestly don't feel pressured by society to look the way I am.

Instrument Horse

For this project, I created a horse made out of different instruments and stuff related to music. I just found it difficult to fit in all the different instruments without losing the whole image. I still feel like the legs of the horse look really weird because the pieces didn't exactly fit with the legs of the actual horse picture. My favorite part of this horse is its head. I just think that it totally looks like the head of a real horse.

For this project we were told to use one picture of ourselves and change up the picture a bit. I decided to do the pencil sketch method because I thought that would look really cool and be really fun to do. I chose the picture of me and my best friend Sophia. This project turned out really well and it didn't take that long as I thought it would. The only problem I had for this project was finding out the right picture to use for this project.

Frozen Spring

This next project we were told to create a translucent themed piece. It took me a long time to come up with an idea but finally I decided to do a ice cubes with flowers in them. I just took down the opacity of the eraser and I erased the flowers until they look like they fit into the ice cube. I also warped some of the flowers so that they looked more realistic with the cube. When I first was thinking about this project, I was thinking about doing bubbles but then I decided to work with ice cubes instead because I thought that would be easier. 

Leminion house

For this project,  I used a lemon as my edible architecture. The lemon is the house of the minions! There is one minion in the window on the right but he is really hard to see. I did a lemon as my architecture because it matches the minions. I had to change the windows and warp them to make them more realistic with the house.

I also put an ice cream cone into lady liberty's hand as another edible architecture. 

Bubble Blowing Baby

I created a short video of me blowing bubbles at my house. I wanted to do the bubbles because I thought that it would look very interesting and very fun to work with. My friend was video taping me and after finishing that we continued to blow bubbles like we did when we were younger. I made my friend take many videos of me blowing bubbles but the bubbles kept coming into my face or they were hard to see with the background. So that was probably the most difficult part because my friend had to keep taking many videos.

I was also inspired by Spongebob to call the name of this post Bubble Blowing Baby. So decided to do a cinema graph of him. 

Cream of Cookies Soup

 For this project I worked with Emmaly and we both came up with the idea to do something cookie related. I wrote Emmaly's name on my can and Emmaly wrote my name on her can. I am really proud how this piece turned out.

Newimals getting married

 

For the newimal project, I mixed a seal and a owl. I decided to mix these two animals because they both are the same color. 

For this project I worked with Claire and Emmaly. Emmaly's newimal is leer (lion and a deer) and Claire's newimal is gotter (goat and an otter). Our animals are at a restaurant in Disney and the leer and the gotter are celebrating their marriage.

When I was thinking of ideas for this project I was trying to incorporate the idea of the peak into the letters APEX and this is what I came up with. I also like the idea of adding a water tower on top of the letter X to make it more related to Apex.

Stop Motion Animation: A Toy Tale

For this project, I worked with Claire and Emmaly. We were stuck between several ideas for this project. We came up with the ideas of having stuffed animals come to life, building a house, playing iphone apps (like 2048 using sticky notes). We ended up combining the ideas of stuffed animals coming to life and playing on the iphone.This is our story board and basically we just wanted the stuffed bear to roll to the phone after a person leaves a room and the bear turns on the iphone to play the game Snake. The bear then loses the game after the snake eats a few apples and then the bear rolls back over when he hears the person come back up the stairs. 

We found that this project was difficult when we had to stop working for the day and come back the next day trying to find the same angle the camera was placed the day before. We also found it difficult to try and work with the camera at some points. We got the hang of it by the last day though. If there was anything I wanted to fix, it would be the audio. The audio is a little off but if we had more time, we could have fixed that up better. I feel like we did a great job of incorporating all the things we did from our storyboard to our animation video.

Stop Motion Animation Research

The person I chose to research was a person who goes by the name PES. PES is just one person, not a company name. PES has made several different videos which I like. Some examples include his western pasta (video on left), game over (video below), KaBoom!, and fresh guacamole. I just thought that PES was very professional and I like how it all flows very well and it all looks very realistic.

Yoga Swirls

My inspiration for this piece was my Aunt because she does yoga everyday and I thought of her when I was creating a pose to do for this project. When I was creating the background for this project, I did a blue and yellow sand gradient color, like the beach, because I would love to do yoga on the beach one day. One problem I came across was coming up with a pose for this project because it did take me a while to think of something to use. I also got overwhelmed with all the brushes that I had no idea of what brush to use. If I were to do this project again, I would change the brushes just to test out which brushes I like more than others. The brushes I used were the sparkly ones (my favorite), the leaf-looking ones, and just some plain ones so that I could create some swirls on the side and around me.

This week we were told to test out the brush tool in photoshop. We got to basically work freely with this project and the idea I chose as my interest was hand sanitizers because I can be a germaphobe.

Fish are friends not food

For our next project, we had to create angry pancakes. Although, my pancakes do not look very angry.. The hardest thing I found in this project was when I was trying to open the pancakes mouth so that it could fit the shark teeth. I overcame this obstacle by turning down the opacity of the teeth so that I could see the mouth of the pancake. If I were to redo this project, I would use different teeth maybe something more angry looking so that it could be more of an angry pancake than a happy creepy pancake. This project was fun and I can't wait to do another one like it!

Me, myself, and I..and me and me again

For our first  computer art project, we were told to create clones of ourselves. The thing that I found most difficult about this project is when I was in photoshop, I had a hard time with placing myself correctly in the picture. It also took me a while to erase the edges of myself. I had fixed this problem by zooming in so that I could see more clearly of what I was erasing. I also started using the original picture's background  to help me with placing. Honestly if I would not want to redo this project because I like the way it is but if I was forced to the only thing I may change is the location and the poses I did so that I could just create a something completely different and new.
